Fabio Martino, still young: his name is already mentioned in a row with the best pianists of the World. On Thursday evening, he brought his audience to enthusiastic applause with George Gershwin’s Piano Concerto.

The highlight of the evening was George Gerhswin’s Piano Concerto in F, which is probably rarely performed by a soloist in such an intense musical manner and with such rhythmic stringency as it sounded. Already after the first movement, the audience spontaneously broke out into applause. In the second movement, as well as in his solo cadenza, Martino gave to his listeners many wonderfully tender, touching, but also enthusiastic moments based on the blues.
Enthusiastic applause started after the final movement, so that the audience was delighted to receive two encores: First from the “Danzas argentinas” op.2, No. 3 by Alberto Ginastera the “Danza del gaucho matrero” characterized by exuberant virtuosity, then the “Dansa Negra”, a Brazilian dance by Camargo Guarnieri.
